Ukraine has a critical need for 155 and 152 calibre weapons. There are also difficulties with FPV drones and air defence.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this at the YES (Yalta European Strategy) conference. He noted that he could not name the number of Patriot systems in service, but the reality is more positive than official information.

The Patriot, NASAMS and SAMPT/T systems are working, but there are not enough missiles for them. The President explained that usually two missiles are launched at one enemy target, while the military tries to launch one at a time.

"Every time we say: we are grateful to our partners, but we need complete packages," the president said, explaining that the delivered weapons are used to replenish losses, but it is also necessary to create a reserve.

Regarding the statistics on the downing of attack drones, the president said that 35% of the Shaheds are shot down by Ukrainian soldiers using man-portable air defence systems.

Zelenskyy stressed that the ATACMS systems that Ukraine has now are actually ‘useless’ if they cannot be used to launch long-range strikes on Russian military targets, including airfields. He added that at the beginning of receiving HIMARS, they were used three times more.
