On 17 September, a Ukrainian rescuer was killed in Donetsk Region.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine with reference to the Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko.

In the morning, a village in the Pokrovsk district came under fire. One rescuer was killed in the attack. 

Updated. According to the State Emergency Service of Donetsk Region, the tragedy occurred while extinguishing a fire in the village of Rivne. Here, the Russian occupiers carried out a targeted artillery attack on the rescuers.

‘One of the shrapnel hit Artem Repin, the commander of the 83rd state fire and rescue unit of the 9th state fire and rescue detachment, chief master sergeant of the civil protection service. The firefighter was immediately taken to hospital, but despite all the efforts of the medics, the firefighter could not be saved,’ the regional department of the State Emergency Service said.
