Germany is handing over a new aid package to Ukraine.
This was reported by the press service of the country's government.
Germany has sent to Ukraine:
- 22 Leopard 1 A5 tanks;
- 22 MRAP armoured vehicles;
- 5 Bandvagn 206 tracked all-terrain vehicles;
- 1 Warthog tracked all-terrain vehicle;
- 3 Gepard anti-aircraft systems;
- 2 TRML-4D radars;
- 61,000 rounds of 155 mm ammunition;
- 30 Vector reconnaissance drones;
- 20 RQ-35 HEIDRUN reconnaissance drones;
- 20 unmanned surface vehicles;
- 12 Songbird reconnaissance drones;
- 6 Hornet XR drones;
- 3 Beaver bridge-laying tanks with spare parts;
- 1 Dachs armoured engineering vehicle;
- 6 WISENT 1 demining vehicles;
- 16 ground-based radar surveillance stations;
- 2 AMPS protective systems for helicopters;
- two vehicles for border protection;
- 112 vehicles (trucks, vans, all-terrain vehicles);
- 8 Zetros trucks;
- 10 MG3 machine guns with 500 spare barrels and bolts;
- 1 million rounds of ammunition for firearms.
Reuters recently reported that Germany is set to approve nearly €400 million in urgent military aid to Ukraine. The German government believes that Ukraine could be defeated in its defence campaign without significantly increased material support.
Germany is allocating another €50 million for the treatment of Ukrainians affected by Russian aggression. German hospitals have already treated 1,173 seriously wounded and injured Ukrainian soldiers and civilians.
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has promised Kyiv an additional €100 million in aid to help Ukraine survive the winter.
