Today, 20 September, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at a joint press conference with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Kyiv that Ukraine should be maximally strengthened to host the second Peace Summit this year, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
‘I want to thank you for our joint work to implement the Peace Formula, which is the only real format for ending the war with a truly just and lasting peace. We must strengthen Ukraine as much as possible to organise the second Peace Summit this year - a summit that will be able to put an end to this war, a point that will never become an ellipsis,’ Zelenskyy said.
‘And we are all equally interested in peace in Europe. Peace is not a freezing of the war, not any manipulation of international law and morality. Peace must be reliable and it will be. I am confident in this. I am grateful to everyone who is helping us,’ the Head of State added.
The Head of State also said that the Victory Plan of Ukraine is designed for quick decisions of the partners in October-December.
‘For the most part, decisions on the Victory Plan depend on the US President and other partners. But there are points that depend on the positive will and support of the United States. I really hope that the US President will support this plan. The entire plan is designed for quick decisions by our partners, for decisions that should be implemented from October to December,’ Zelenskyy said.
The President expressed hope that these decisions would not be delayed. ‘Then we believe this plan will work,’ he said.
