Ukraine has reached an agreement with the European Union to increase electricity imports.
This was announced by Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his evening video address on 20 September.
"We also discussed energy in detail with Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission. Today's visit has added sensitive support to Ukraine. There is a new package for our energy sector from the European Union - 160 million euros. There is also an agreement to increase electricity imports to Ukraine - something that will definitely support our state and our people in difficult situations," the Head of State said.
The President added that he and the President of the European Commission had discussed steps that "will help us preserve at least a quarter of our generation".
