Russians carry out two air strikes on Sumy, casualties reported (update)

One strike hit the hospital, the second strike was made by Russians during the evacuation of patients. A police officer was killed. 

On the morning of 28 September, the Russian military carried out an air strike on a hospital in Sumy. The second strike was conducted using Shahed. Eight people were killed, and 12 more were seriously wounded. 

Update. A nurse was killed in Sumy as a result of a Russian drone strike on a hospital. As of 13:00, the number of injured increased to 19, and the death toll to 9. 

Update. Eight dead and 12 wounded reported as a result of the attack by the Russian Shahed. The airstrikes damaged the reception area of the medical facility, partially destroying the ceiling between the first and second floors and the fourth floor and roof of the building. At the time of the explosion, there were 86 patients (including 15 people with reduced mobility) and 38 staff members in the hospital. 

According to the data of the regional military administration, as a result of the attack of Russian Shahed UAVs on the city of Sumy, there are 7 dead and 12 seriously wounded. Police investigative teams, explosives experts and all specialised services are working at the site of the strike.

Law enforcers are directing people to safe places, removing the wounded from the rubble, and medics are providing first aid. A search and rescue operation is underway.

As a result of the first shelling, 1 person was killed and several floors of the hospital were damaged. The evacuation of patients and staff has begun.

"Rescuers and police arrived at the scene to help people. At the same time, during the evacuation of patients, the enemy struck again. As of now, we know about 6 dead, including a policeman. Another policeman was wounded".

The consequences of the strike are being clarified.
