Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyy has denied Putin's statement about the encirclement of Ukrainian troops in the Kursk Region.

The Chief of the Armed Forces wrote about this on social media.

‘The statement made by the head of the aggressor country at the BRICS summit regarding the encirclement of Ukrainian troops in the Kursk Region is not true. This is outright disinformation that does not reflect the real situation,’ General Syrskyy said in a statement.

Syrskyy said that Ukrainian troops ‘continue active operations in the Kursk direction, destroying the enemy's combat potential for the third month in a row. Despite the enemy's fierce pressure in this area, the occupiers suffer significant losses in personnel and military equipment.’

In addition, according to the Commander-in-Chief, from 8 August to the present day, ‘Russian troops in this area of the frontline have lost: 17819 people in personnel. Of these, 6662 people were irretrievably lost; 10446 people were sanitary personnel; and 711 people were captured’.
