At a meeting of world financial leaders in Washington, DC, the G7 countries finally agreed to provide Ukraine with $50 billion in loans.
According to the Voice of America, the G7 loans "will be serviced and repaid by future streams of extraordinary revenues generated by the immobilisation of Russian sovereign assets".
In a joint communiqué, the G7 countries confirmed that they aim to start repayments by the end of this year.
"Time is not on the side of Russian President Putin," the document emphasises.
