Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov announced that Norway would finance the production of Ukrainian weapons and equipment.
He shared this update on social media: “During a visit to Oslo, we agreed with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Defence Minister Bjørn Arild Gram that Norway would join the Danish format of support, which involves direct financing of production in Ukraine. This will enable us to produce and supply the necessary weapons for our Defence Forces more quickly,” Umerov wrote.
He added that the parties also discussed a new cooperation framework—the “Norwegian model”—which involves investing in Ukrainian defence technology companies. Umerov stated that further details would be provided later.
