The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has created a new system of intellectual property protection and patenting of military technologies.
This was announced by the Minister of Defence of Ukraine Rustem Umerov.
The new patenting system provides clear rules for cooperation with Ukrainian and international partners, and innovations are now protected.
‘The future of war and defence is not only about the power of weapons, but also about the power of innovation. It is important not only to create new technologies, but also to form a sustainable system that protects and supports their development,’ the minister wrote.
This system is a signal to our partners that Ukraine is ready for responsible cooperation. Their technologies are protected in Ukraine, and support from the defence sector gives them guarantees of development and security.
An example of this approach is the patent for the Vitryak-M (Windmill-M) FPV drone detector developed by the Technology Scaling Centre. This development helps the Armed Forces of Ukraine detect enemy drones and warn of their approach.
‘Patenting is a sense of security for our inventors‘ developments, the confidence of our partners and the foundation of a new defence culture, where every discovery is a step towards victory,’ Rustem Umerov added.
