The Ministry of Defence has signed a strategically important contract with ICEYE, a leader in the field of SAR satellites, according to Defence Minister Rustem Umerov.
"Thanks to this contract, our military will have access to high-precision satellite imagery with full coverage of the combat zone. The command will be able to independently determine priority observation areas and quickly receive up-to-date data through the ICEYE satellite system," Umerov wrote.
He noted that this agreement was made possible by the support of the German government and Rheinmetall, which was a party to the contract.
SAR satellites (Synthetic Aperture Radar) are equipped with radars that use aperture synthesis technology to create high-precision images of the earth's surface in all weather conditions and at any time of the day.
