Ukrainian defenders shoot down 88 Russian drones; one returns to Russia, over 40 lost

Russian targets were downed across 11 Regions. 

On Friday night, beginning at 18:30, Russia launched an attack on Ukraine involving 132 Shahed drones and unidentified UAVs from the directions of Orel, Millerovo, Kursk, and Prymorsko-Akhtarsk.

Ukrainian defenders successfully shot down 88 drones, while 41 were lost in the area, and one reportedly flew back into Russian territory, according to the Air Force.

“As a result of the Russian attack, infrastructure, vehicles, private homes, and apartment buildings were damaged in several Regions of Ukraine. Assistance is being provided to the victims,” the statement said.

The attack was repelled by defenders in the Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa Regions.
