Explosions were reported in the town of Millerovo, Rostov Region, on Monday evening, targeting a military airfield frequently used by the Russian army to launch Shahed drones against Ukraine.
The acting governor of Rostov Region and Russia’s Ministry of Defence claimed the drone attack was repelled, with conflicting reports on the number of UAVs destroyed — local authorities cited eight, while the government stated nine.
Despite official assertions of “no casualties or destruction,” local residents shared photos and videos of a large fire at the airfield, contradicting the official narrative.
This airfield plays a key role in Russia’s ongoing drone strikes, which regularly target Ukraine.
