The DeepState analytical group has responded to criticism from military command regarding their reports about the encirclement of Ukrainian soldiers in some localities.
The group stated that it enjoys widespread public support and the trust of many military personnel but acknowledged that “not all commanders like the truth.”
DeepState emphasised their commitment to helping Ukraine achieve victory, noting their “iron reputation,” trust among society and the military, and the widespread use of their map of the Russian-Ukrainian war. They stressed: “Lies will destroy us all.”
This statement followed backlash over reports of encirclements of Ukrainian troops, which the military command refuted. For example, on 23 December, the Khortytsya Military Unit denied the claim that Ukrainian Defence Forces were encircled in Makarivka in the Vremivka direction, as shown on DeepState’s map. Earlier, similar criticism arose regarding the so-called “Uspenivsky bag.”
Journalist Yuriy Butusov commented on the situation, suggesting there may be tensions between DeepState and the Armed Forces command. However, citing an unnamed source within the military leadership, Butusov clarified that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces has not taken any actions to pressure DeepState.
The source reportedly suggested that the Khortytsya unit should invite DeepState analysts for discussions to coordinate the coverage of frontline developments.
