In the Pokrovsk sector, the situation is tense and very dynamic, with fighting for small settlements in areas with low buildings. The enemy is trying to surround the town from the south.
This was reported by Viktor Trehubov, spokesman for the Khortytsya military unit, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
‘There are constant systematic enemy attacks in the Pokrovsk sector, constant battles in settlements south of the city of Pokrovsk. However, it should be understood that it is not even possible to define any stability there or say that this part is occupied by the enemy, this part is occupied by us, because the situation is very dynamic. It's a low-rise suburban area, a bunch of satellite villages... There are constant changes in the line, and if you look at it from above, it would seem somewhat chaotic, although there is a system to it,' Trehubov said.
The spokesman emphasises that Russians are trying to surround Pokrovsk, particularly from the southern side.
‘This is their goal for the foreseeable future, they will try to do it, although it is far from being achieved. They are propping up Pokrovsk from the south, but there is no question of encirclement or partial coverage now. But this is their plan, and ours is to prevent this from happening,’ the soldier said.
In the former Kurakhove, now Novopavlivka direction, unlike in the Pokrovsk direction, where infantry and small groups are fighting in small settlements, the enemy is using more equipment and aircraft, as there is more space for this: fewer settlements and more steppe.
