According to South Korean intelligence, about 300 North Korean soldiers have been killed and about 2,700 wounded in the war against Ukraine on the side of Russia.

This was reported by the Yonhap news agency.

The massive losses of North Korean soldiers are attributed to their "lack of understanding of modern warfare", in particular, according to the analysis of videos from the war, futile shooting at drones.

Intelligence also claims that North Korea is forcing its soldiers to commit suicide in order to avoid being captured alive by the Ukrainian military.

South Korea also commented on the capture of two North Korean soldiers. It is noted that these prisoners of war did not express a desire to come to South Korea. Presumably, they worked for North Korean intelligence.
