US President Donald Trump has called on Russia to conclude an agreement with Ukraine to end the war on Truth Social, reports Yevropeyska Pravda.
Trump wrote that he ‘doesn't want to hurt Russia’, ‘loves the Russian people and has always had a very good relationship with Putin’, reminding that ‘Russia helped us win World War II, losing almost 60 million lives in the process’.
Therefore, the American president decided that ‘given all this, I am going to do Russia, whose economy is collapsing, and Putin a very big favour’. ‘Make a deal now and end this senseless war! It's only going to get worse,’ Trump said, adding that if there is no deal soon, he will have “no choice but to impose high taxes, tariffs and sanctions on everything Russia sells to the United States and other countries concerned”.
‘Let's end this war that would never have started if I were president! We can do it the easy way or the hard way - and the easy way is always better. It is time to make a deal. No more lives should be lost,’ the US president said in a statement.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the new US president has instructed the special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, retired Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg, to end the war in Ukraine in one hundred days.
