At least four explosions were reported during an air raid alert in Zaporizhzhya, according to Ivan Fedorov, head of the regional military administration. The city was targeted by ballistic missiles, following an earlier attack by drones overnight.
As of 11:41 a.m., at least 45 people have received medical assistance, with 22 hospitalised in moderate condition, including a two-month-old baby. One person, a 47-year-old man, was killed in the missile strike.
“Our rescuers were wounded during repeated shelling while responding to the aftermath of the attack. All relevant services are working on-site to assist people as much as possible,” President Zelenskyy commented.
Four State Emergency Service (SES) workers were injured and hospitalised. Reports have also emerged of people trapped under rubble.
The attack caused significant damage, with one high-rise building destroyed and 30 others damaged. Private homes and non-residential buildings in the Shevchenkivskyy and Oleksandrivskyy districts of Zaporizhzhya were also affected. Utility companies are already working to repair the damage caused by the strike.
