The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyy, has condemned recent attacks on servicemen, calling them shameful. He also emphasised that mobilisation remains essential during wartime.

“In a short period, three shameful acts of violence occurred in different regions, leaving servicemen injured,” Syrskyy wrote on Telegram.

He recalled that in Poltava Region, a serviceman from the territorial recruitment centre was killed while performing his duty. In Rivne, Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel were wounded when an attacker detonated an explosive device. A similar incident occurred at a recruitment centre in Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk Region.

One of the injured servicemen in Rivne is in serious condition, while the wounded soldier in Pavlohrad is in stable condition with minor injuries.

“Violence against servicemen is unacceptable. We expect a full and thorough investigation, and those responsible must be brought to justice,” Syrskyy said.

He stressed that the Armed Forces are making every effort to defend Ukraine, but mobilisation is crucial for this effort to continue. He also noted that measures are being taken to prevent human rights violations during mobilisation.

The Land Forces are working to address problems in recruitment centres, correct mistakes, and improve their operations, he added.

“However, Ukraine’s defence is impossible without public support for the army and respect for servicemen. I am grateful to everyone who stands with the Armed Forces and honours our soldiers,” Syrskyy said.
