Today, the Russians attacked Izyum in the Kharkiv Region. According to preliminary data, the occupiers used an Iskander ballistic missile. Five people were killed and 55 wounded.
Updated data was provided by the State Emergency Service and the Military Administration. A 16-year-old girl is among the wounded.
In addition to her, two other children were wounded: a boy aged six and a girl aged 14. The 14-year-old victim is in serious condition, the rest of the children are in average condition.
The victims are a 44-year-old man, a 69-year-old man, two women and one man - their identities are being established. Most of the victims are employees of the tax office, the Service for Children, the State Executive Service, a medical college and other institutions.
According to the head of the RMA, Oleh Synyehubov, the women who died were 18 and 19 years old, one of them was pregnant.
At least five people were hospitalised.
The Russians hit the administrative building. Another administrative building nearby was damaged, as well as multi-storey residential buildings. There are no military facilities in the area. According to the Ukrainian president, the city council building was partially damaged.
Rescuers, emergency medical services, and a dog service are working.
According to the Ministry of Justice, the shelling partially destroyed the office of the Izyum department of the State Executive Service in the Izyum district of Kharkiv Region of the Eastern Interregional Department of the Ministry of Justice.
‘At the time of the hit, there were 8 employees of the State Enforcement Service of Ukraine in the office. Three were injured, the rest were unharmed,’ the ministry said.
Five of the victims are tax officials, said Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the State Tax Service.
‘Five of our colleagues from the tax service were injured as a result of an enemy missile attack on the central part of Izyum in Kharkiv Region. They were hospitalised in a medical facility. One of our employees is currently under medical supervision,’ he said.
