The Ukrainian Defence Forces foiled an attempt by Russian occupiers to gain a foothold on the outskirts of Toretsk in Donetsk Region.
This was reported by the Khortytsya Joint Forces Operation Centre.
The Ukrainian military prevented another attempt by Russians to enter and gain a foothold on the outskirts of Toretsk: ‘A small group of Russian infantrymen set out to assault, but instead found themselves on a safari,’ the JFO writes.
‘On the approach, the scouts of the Gyurza unit of the unmanned systems battalion discovered a group of occupants who were on their way to assault. After that, the infantrymen split up, and the first three went on the attack,’ the military added.
Closer to the building, Ukrainian infantrymen from two brigades began to meet the Russian attackers with heavy fire under the guidance of Gyurza aerial reconnaissance aircraft. The enemy was prevented from regrouping by drone attacks.
The Khortytsya unit added that heavy fighting continues in Toretsk.
