Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has increased its forces fivefold. Every month it increases its army by 8,000-9,000 people. Over the course of a year, this is 120-130,000, said Oleksandr Syrskyy, the head of the Russian army, in an interview with Lb.ua.

As of 1 January, the Russian group that took part in the fighting in Ukraine numbered 603,000 people. As of early April, there were already 623,000.

‘Imagine if they are paid 20-40 thousand dollars for signing a contract alone, I'm not taking into account all the other salary payments, and a soldier gets 2,500 dollars or more. That is, they throw money at people, and this is the main incentive. We cannot afford it,’ he said.

The enemy's mobilisation resource of trained people, i.e. those who have undergone military service and training, is about 5 million people. The total mobilisation resource is 20 million.

‘What can we do in these circumstances? Of course, mobilisation and transfers,’ said the chief.
