The European Commission and Europa Nostra have announced the winners of the European Heritage Awards/Europa Nostra Awards 2025, co-funded by the European Union's Creative Europe programme. This year, the most prestigious European award in the field of heritage was given to the Different Together festival, organised by Mystetskyy Arsenal. This was announced by the press service of Mystetskyy Arsenal in a press release.
Main point of the success of the Different Together festival is its focus on co-creation and collaboration. An intensive pre-festival capacity building programme supports heritage professionals through training, networking and mentoring, focusing on museums from frontline regions. In 2023, travel grants allowed ten organisations from regions severely affected by Russia's war against Ukraine to participate in our festival, and five museums received additional support to create and present educational projects at the festival. In 2024, the number of supported participants doubled.
The European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards were launched by the European Commission in 2002 and have been implemented by Europa Nostra since then. For 23 years, the Awards have been a key instrument for recognising and promoting the diverse values of heritage for European culture, society, economy and environment.
The winners will be honoured on 13 October at the European Heritage Awards 2025 at the Flagey, an iconic Art Deco building in Brussels.
Anyone can take part in the online voting for the Public Choice Award 2025, which will award the winner with a €10,000 prize. You can vote until 12 September.
