Ukrainian Forces strike major gas and oil facilities in Russia’s Volgograd Region

Explosions and fires were recorded on the territory of both enterprises, and information about the consequences of the strike is being clarified.

On the night of 9 October, the Ukrainian Defence Forces struck the Korobkovskiy gas processing plant and the Yefimovka linear production dispatch station in the Volgograd Region of Russia.

This was reported by the General Staff and the Special Operations Forces.

The Korobkovskiy gas processing plant, located in Kotovo, Volgograd Region of the Russian Federation, is one of the largest facilities for the primary processing of natural gas and associated petroleum gas in southern Russia. Its design capacity is 450 million m³ of natural and associated gas per year and 186,000 tonnes of light hydrocarbons annually.

The Yefimovka oil and gas processing plant, also located in the Volgograd Region, is a station that serves several main lines for the transportation of oil and petroleum products in the region, with a throughput capacity of 50 million tonnes per year.

Explosions and a fire were reported at both facilities, and information about the consequences of the attack is being clarified.

“The Ukrainian Defence Forces are consistently implementing measures aimed at undermining the military and economic potential of the Russian Federation in order to stop the armed aggression against Ukraine,” the General Staff emphasised.
