Ukrainian dancers took part in the Nederlandse Dansdagen contemporary dance festival, which took place on 3–9 October in Maastricht (the Netherlands), the Ukrainian Institute reported on its Facebook page.
Ukrainian International Ballet presented Present, a new work by renowned Dutch choreographer Marne van Opstal, created especially for the Ukrainian troupe.
The performance was staged by Vladyslava Kovalenko and Vladyslav Detyuchenko in the historic Sint Janskerk church. Nataliya Zhdan, who presented her work as part of the Open Your Mind programme, and Polina Skarga also took part in the festival.
Nederlandse Dansdagen is one of the leading contemporary dance festivals in the Netherlands, bringing together prominent choreographers, performers and producers each year to showcase the most notable productions, premieres and emerging talents on the national scene.
The participation of Ukrainian artists in the festival was supported by the Ukrainian Institute.
