Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has ordered contact with Trump’s team regarding Russia’s proposal to halt fire on 9 May

“I instructed our representatives to get in touch with the team of the President of the United States and clarify the details of Russia’s proposal for a short-term silence,” Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram

He noted that Ukraine seeks peace and is carrying out the necessary diplomatic work to bring this war to a real end.

“We will find out what exactly is being discussed: a few hours of security for the parade in Moscow or something more. Our proposal is to cease fire on a long-term basis, guarantee reliable security for people, and achieve lasting peace,” the president said.

He added that Ukraine is ready to work toward this in any dignified and effective format.
