As of August 2026, specialists from Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence Directorate have identified 5,816 foreign components in 202 Russian weapons systems.

Ukrainian intelligence officers showed diplomats samples of Western-made components found in Russian missiles, drones and other weapons.
The Defence Intelligence Directorate said that most electronic components found in Russian cruise and ballistic missiles, drones and armoured vehicles are of foreign origin. According to Ukrainian intelligence, Russia sources these components from Europe, Asia and North America, including by circumventing international sanctions through third countries and so-called “grey” schemes.
Among the samples shown to diplomats was an Nvidia Jetson Orin microcomputer, which Ukrainian intelligence said had been recovered from a Russian S-71M Monochrome cruise missile. They also displayed an inertial module containing components made by US company Texas Instruments and Japan’s TDK Corporation.
The intelligence officers also presented a sample of the Geran-2 attack drone, as well as foreign-made components found in Russia’s Geran Seeker drone and BanderoL cruise missile.
The Defence Intelligence Directorate stressed that showing such samples to diplomats should help strengthen enforcement of sanctions against Russia and cut off channels supplying foreign technologies to Russia’s military-industrial complex.
“Providing evidence and showing the truth about the use of foreign technologies in Russian weapons of terror is an important task in monitoring compliance with sanctions,” the intelligence agency said.
