On the night of 11 August, Russians carried out a ballistic strike on Zaporizhstal, killing seven employees of the plant.

This was reported by Metinvest’s press service.

The people were heading to a shelter immediately after the air-raid alert was announced.

Another 21 employees were injured.

The shelling damaged energy units, infrastructure, as well as the main and auxiliary facilities of the coke and blast-furnace operations. As a result, the steelworks has completely halted operations, while other production sites in Zaporizhzhya are currently running at reduced capacity.

With support from municipal services and emergency responders, specialists are already dealing with the aftermath of the attack, carrying out emergency repair work, assessing the scale of the destruction, and determining timelines for restoring the facilities.
