Ukrainian illustrator Misha Chernov has won the annual international Folio Book Illustration Award 2026. The British publisher The Folio Society reported this.
This year, participants from around the world created illustrations for the first chapter of the novel “Never Let Me Go” by British writer Kazuo Ishiguro. In total, more than 400 entries were submitted.
The competition jury praised Chernov’s work for its bold visual style and creative interpretation of the book.
About Misha Chernov:
- Ukrainian freelance illustrator;
- graduate of Falmouth University (United Kingdom);
- draws inspiration in his work from the aesthetics of dark academia, gothic, and mysticism;
- creates illustrations for fiction and non-fiction books, editorial articles and maps, and also works with calligraphy and typography.
