On 16–17 May, the British Library in London will host the Festival of European Writers for the third time. The event is organised by EUNIC, a network of EU national cultural institutes, in partnership with the European Literature Network and the British Library.
This year, writers from 26 countries will take part. Ukraine will be represented by writer and serviceman Artem Chapeye. Together with Cypriot novelist Christy Lefteri and Portuguese writer Gonçalo M. Tavares, he will join a discussion titled On the Road, which will explore themes including the contemporary Russian-Ukrainian war, the Second World War, and forced displacement and refugee experiences.
In addition, on 18 May, Chapeye will present the English translation of his book “Weathering”. The translation was done by Daisy Gibbons. The event will take place at Veranda Books.
Ukrainian Institute London also contributed to organising the events.
