Ukraine continues to develop ‘small-scale’ air defence capabilities to combat Russian drones. One of the latest solutions is a Ukrainian AI-powered turret designed to destroy Russian drones, which is already being deployed on the front line.
This was announced by Defence Minister Mykhaylo Fedorov.
“One of the new technological solutions is the Ukrainian AI-powered turret from Brave1. The system autonomously detects, tracks and calculates the trajectory of enemy UAVs. The operator simply needs to confirm the strike with the press of a single button. Importantly, the technology makes it possible to destroy even fibre-optic drones, which are not vulnerable to electronic warfare,” he wrote.
He stressed that the technology is capable of destroying even fibre-optic drones, which are not susceptible to electronic warfare measures.
The K-2 military brigades were the first to deploy the new system in combat conditions. Currently, the AI-powered turret is already in use in more than ten units across key sectors of the front line.
According to the minister, the next stage will involve scaling up the technology and further strengthening Ukraine’s ‘light’ air defence.
“This is another element of the system we are building to maximise the detection and interception of enemy air targets,” Fedorov emphasised.
