In the afternoon of May 7, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that today Ukraine’s long-range sanctions are again in Perm — more than 1,500 kilometers from our border.
He recalled that there were also important results recently in Chelyabinsk — up to 1,800 kilometers — as well as in Yekaterinburg — almost 2,000 kilometers. The consequences of Ukraine’s long-range reach were also felt in Novorossiysk, Krymsk, Tuapse, and the Samara and Nizhny Novgorod regions.
“We have repeatedly proposed that Russia’s leadership move toward peace. In response, we received only new Russian strikes. That is precisely why Ukraine’s long-range sanctions are moving toward distant Russian sites linked to Russia’s military industry, the infrastructure of war, and the financing of aggression,” Zelenskyy wrote.
He noted that every day Russia can make a choice and stop its war.
“And not for a few hours, to get our permission to hold a parade in Moscow, but in a way that protects people’s lives. People should be valued, not parades. Peace must be established, not running around the world’s capitals begging for a pause for May 9. Peace is needed. Thank you to everyone who is helping Russia realize this,” the head of state wrote.
