Ukrainian authors, artists and publishers nominated for Eurocon Awards

The winners will be announced during the festival in Berlin in early July.

Ukrainian authors, artists and publishers nominated for Eurocon Awards

The annual Eurocon science fiction festival will take place in Berlin from 2 to 5 July. Winners in various categories will be announced during the event, with Ukrainians represented in a number of nominations. Specifically:

Competing in the Hall of Fame nominations for lifetime achievement in science fiction are:

  • the creative workshop of Romana Romanyshyn and Andriy Lesiv, Agrafka — in the Best Artist category;
  • writer Volodymyr Yeskilev — in the Best Writer category;
  • Vivat Publishing House — in the Best Publisher category;
  • Dmytro Kadzhyt and the Three Quanta at Midnight project — in the Best Promoter category;
  • translator Bohdan Stasyuk.

In the Achievement Awards categories, which recognise works from the past year:

  • artist Oksana Sinenko — for her illustrations for Pavlo Derevianko’s trilogy Chronicle of the Grey Order;
  • the collection Legendarium of Urban Wonders — in the Best Prose Work category;
  • the film U Are the Universe — in the Best Dramatic Presentation category;
  • Valeriya Savotina with her book Vandalism — in the children’s and young adult literature category;
  • blogger Vlad Storyteller — in the Best Online Project category;
  • Andriy Dankovych’s comic Mor. Part 2: The Afterlife — in the Best Comic or Graphic Novel category;
  • the Al Mor 2025 festival — among fan events.

Yuliya Nahornyuk has been nominated for the Kryzalys award, which is presented for an outstanding debut in the fantasy genre.
