On the night of 21 August, the Russian army attacked Ukraine with 135 drones of various types. Air defences neutralised 107 of them, while another 27 UAVs struck 16 locations. Debris fell in three places.
This was reported by the Air Force.
“On the night of 21 August (from 18:00 on 20 August), the enemy attacked with 135 Shahed-type strike UAVs (including jet-powered ones), Gerbera drones and Parodiya decoy drones from the following directions: Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk — Russian Federation, Donetsk — temporarily occupied territory, temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea,” they said.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defence Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 08:00, air defences shot down and suppressed 107 Russian Shahed and Gerbera UAVs, as well as drones of other types, in the north, south and east of the country.
As of the morning, the attack is ongoing, with several Russian UAVs in the airspace.
