US President Donald Trump said that the United States is “working very hard” to end the war in Ukraine, and that “something may come of” CIA Director John Ratcliffe’s visit to Moscow, Sky News reports.

Commenting on Ratcliffe’s trip, Trump said that “he was there on very semi-routine business... I wouldn’t want to disappoint people”.

The US President added that “we would like to see the war in Ukraine come to an end” and that his administration is “working very hard to bring this war to an end”.

“Something may come of it,” Trump concluded about Ratcliffe’s visit.

  • US intelligence reportedly gathered compelling data indicating that the Kremlin intends to announce a mass call-up. It also refers to the possibility of the Putin regime testing NATO’s resolve through a military provocation against states on the eastern flank.
  • On 26 August, the President of Lithuania said that next week allies should provide the results of Ratcliffe’s visit to Moscow.
