On the night of 27 August, starting from 18:00, Russia attacked Ukraine with two Oniks anti-ship missiles, Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, as well as 258 strike UAVs of the Shahed type (around a third of them jet-powered), Gerbera, S8000 Banderol and Parodiya decoy drones. The drones were launched from the directions of Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk and the occupied Donetsk and Crimea.
As of 9:00, according to the Air Force, one Oniks anti-ship missile, 7 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, 3 Banderol UAVs, and 222 Russian UAVs were neutralised in the south, north, east and centre of the country. The main направления of the enemy strike were Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya and Poltava Regions.
“Impacts by the enemy’s air attack weapons were recorded at 15 locations, as well as the fall of downed debris at 11 locations. In addition, some enemy strike assets did not reach their targets; information about them is being clarfied,” the military said.
The attack is ongoing, with several Russisn UAVs in the airspace.
- In Kyiv Region, which the Russians struck throughout the night, warehouses and homes were damaged in four districts. There is no information about any injured.
- In Kyiv, a grammar school and a municipal medical facility were damaged.
- For more than seven hours, the Russian military struck Odesa Region: there is damage in residential areas.
- In recent days, the President said that missiles for Patriot systems had been delivered to Ukraine, but there are still not enough means to intercept ballistic missiles.
