Work to deal with the aftermath of the Russian strike on the village of Myla in the Kyiv region is continuing around the clock. The death toll has risen to 38. Four people are considered missing and are being searched for, and 20 residents, including two children, have been injured.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote about this on Telegram.
“Work to deal with the aftermath of the Russian strike in the village of Myla in the Kyiv region is continuing without interruption. Rescuers have managed to put out most of the fires. Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service are also working on site around the clock, locating and neutralising explosive hazards. The scale of contamination in the area is significant, and this work will continue for as long as necessary,” his statement said.
In recent days there have also been many alerts in Kyiv and other regions due to Russian jet-powered drones; they have struck residential buildings and civilian infrastructure.
Overall, in this week alone the Russians have launched nearly 2,000 attack drones, more than 1,600 aerial bombs and 31 missiles of various types, including North Korean ballistic missiles.
Strikes are effectively continuing around the clock on frontline and border communities: Nikopol, Kramatorsk, Kherson, and communities in the Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Sumy regions.
“For every Russian strike and crime, we are seeking just responses. They will certainly come. We thank everyone who is helping to strengthen Ukraine’s air defences and our protection,” the President noted.
- Since 27 August, Russia has been carrying out continuous strikes in small groups of UAVs against the capital and the region. On the evening of 28 August, the enemy struck a production facility in the village of Myla, near the Zhytomyr motorway. The strike led to a detonation.
- The head of the settlement of Dmytrivka, Taras Didych, was killed at the site of the attack after arriving there following the strike.
