The Cabinet of Ministers plans to maximise protection for staff and visitors at petrol stations and ensure the systematic and safe sale of petroleum products.
As Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi said after an emergency meeting with market operators and the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Infrastructure, the National Security and Defence Council, the State Emergency Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, there are ideas to strengthen the security of such facilities.
“We are already testing a software solution that will make it possible to see the direction of drone movements and respond to the threat in advance. This is about automatic and rapid alerts at filling stations about approaching enemy drones. We will test this at filling station complexes — while simultaneously connecting other businesses. Ministers have been tasked with speeding up this process as much as possible,” the head of government said.
Koretskyi added that the meeting analysed the balance of petroleum products, logistics and the pricing situation.
“Because of events in the Middle East and disruptions in supply chains, global oil prices are once again rising sharply. It is clear that there is a corresponding reaction in Ukraine from market players as well. We have outlined a clear action plan both for rail connections and for simplifying customs procedures for fuel tankers, as was done in 2022. We are responding to business requests — the response must be swift and effective,” the Prime Minister concluded, announcing regular coordination of actions with business.
