Russia Attacks Ukraine With 453 Drones as Air Defences Down More Than 400 Targets

On the night of 13 September, Russian forces carried out another large-scale attack on Ukraine, deploying 453 strike drones. This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force.

The attack began at 18:00 on 12 September. The Russians launched Shahed-type strike UAVs, including jet-powered ones, Gerbera drones, "Parodiya" decoy drones, as well as S8000 "Banderol" drones.

Launches were carried out from the areas of Shatalovo, Oryol, Kursk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from the area of Hvardiiske and the waters of the Sea of Azov off occupied Crimea.

Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defence Forces, were involved in repelling the air attack.

According to preliminary data, as of 08:00 Ukraine’s air defences had destroyed or suppressed 405 enemy UAVs of various types. Four S8000 "Banderol" drones were also destroyed.

Strikes by the enemy’s air attack assets were recorded at 13 locations. The fall of downed drones and their debris was recorded at a further 7 locations.

"The attack is ongoing, with enemy UAVs in the airspace. Follow safety rules!" the Air Force stressed.
