Since the start of the day on 12 September, 206 combat clashes have taken place on the front line. Russian forces were most active in assaulting Defence Forces positions on the Pokrovsk sector, where Ukrainian troops repelled 25 attacks.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this in its evening update.
Overall over the past day, the enemy carried out two missile strikes and 63 air strikes, dropped 228 guided aerial bombs and deployed 6,477 kamikaze drones. Russian forces also carried out 2,046 strikes on populated areas and Ukrainian military positions.
On the Pokrovsk sector the occupiers attempted to advance near Toretsk, Kucherovyi Yar, Stepy, Dorozhnie, Bilytske, Svitle, Shevchenko, Matiasheve, Novohryshyne, Hryshyne, Serhiivka, Udachne and Novopidhhorodne.
According to preliminary estimates, Ukrainian troops eliminated 44 occupiers and wounded a further 17. Five vehicles, eight pieces of specialised equipment, one unmanned aerial vehicle control point and 51 enemy shelters were also destroyed. Nine vehicles, five artillery systems, one piece of specialised equipment, seven UAV control points and 139 enemy shelters were damaged. In addition, 289 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types were destroyed or suppressed.
On the Kostiantynivka sector the Defence Forces repelled ten attacks, while two more clashes were ongoing. On the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector the Russians assaulted Ukrainian positions nine times, with two clashes continuing.
On the Huliaipole sector the enemy carried out seven attacks. On the Kupiansk sector Ukrainian troops repelled three assaults, on the Lyman sector two attempts to advance, while one more clash was ongoing.
On the Sloviansk sector the Defence Forces stopped three Russian attempts to push forward, with one more attack continuing. On the Orikhiv sector two attacks were repelled, while one more clash continued.
No offensive actions by the enemy were recorded on the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk, Kramatorsk and Prydniprovia sectors. No significant changes in the situation were reported on other sectors.
