Vadym Skibitskyi, Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence, said at the annual Yalta European Strategy (YES) conference that a nuclear scenario would pose a threat first and foremost to Russia’s own regime. The use of nuclear weapons would threaten many countries and regions.

“This is bad for European countries, for the United States, because it really could create certain problems and a threat to the current Russian regime,” Skibitskyi said.

According to him, the use of any nuclear weapon, including tactical arms, now poses a challenge for many regions of the world.

“For example, for the Persian Gulf region, and for other regions where there are countries with nuclear weapons today,” he added.
