Ukraine is preparing for possible Russian attacks on energy infrastructure this winter and already has a plan to ensure the resilience of its regions.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhii Koretskyi said this at the YES conference, LB.ua reports.
According to him, the country is now far better prepared for possible strikes than it was last winter.
The main task ahead of winter is to ensure the resilience of the energy system and the functioning of regions, cities and oblasts.
"There is a resilience plan; we are protecting infrastructure assets in the energy sector, and preparing decentralised means to sustain the functioning of regions, cities and oblasts. And that is the main task," Serhii Koretskyi said.
He added that Ukraine is also securing the necessary energy resources, including coal and gas.
At the same time, energy infrastructure remains under constant threat of Russian attacks. The prime minister noted that it is impossible to fully protect every facility from strikes.
"The energy sector is under constant shelling; it is impossible to protect everything completely. That is clear. However, we are significantly better prepared for these attacks than we were last winter," he stressed.
