If funding proves insufficient, the government may cut or streamline non-essential budget spending. At the same time, funding for the Defence Forces and the social sector will remain priorities.

Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi said this in response to a question from LB.ua on the sidelines of the annual YES conference.

According to the head of government, if funds run short, spending that can be paused, cancelled or optimised will be reviewed.

"We will look at non-essential spending. There are priority expenditures — the Defence Forces and the social sector. Those are what we will cover first," Koretskyi said.

He added that everything that can be paused, halted or cancelled will be reviewed with a view to cutting or streamlining it.

Asked about the possibility of monetary issuance, the prime minister said the government is not ready to talk about it at present.
