Ukraine will take part in the Frankfurt Book Fair — one of the world’s largest and most influential book events — which will be held this year from 7 to 11 October.

Ukraine’s national stand is organised by the Ukrainian Book Institute.

According to the organisers, over five days Ukrainian authors, translators, journalists, intellectuals and civic activists will speak at the national stand and on several other stages in international discussions.

In particular, books will be presented by 44 publishers. The aim is to draw attention to Ukraine’s losses and the losses suffered by Ukrainian publishing as a result of the war.

The full programme for the Ukrainian stand is available via this link.

The Frankfurt Book Fair is the world’s largest international book fair, held annually in October at the Messe Frankfurt exhibition centre in Germany. The event is the leading global marketplace for trading copyright and licences, as well as a key cultural and professional forum for publishers, authors and translators. This year’s festival Guest of Honour will be the Czech Republic.
