Moldova’s airspace was breached twice by drones during a large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine.
NewsMaker reports, citing Moldova’s Ministry of Defence.
The first drone entered Moldova’s airspace at 10:33 on 14 September from the direction of the village of Maiaky in Odesa Region. It flew for about 500 metres near the Moldovan village of Palanca, then returned to Ukraine’s airspace roughly a minute later.
The drone was spotted by Moldovan and Ukrainian border guards.
The second UAV was recorded at 11:09 while crossing the Moldovan border. It entered Moldova’s airspace from Ukraine near the village of Cioburciu and left the country near the village of Kuchurhan in Odesa Region, heading towards the village of Stepove.
Moldova’s Ministry of Defence suggested that both drones ended up in the country’s airspace as a result of Russia’s large-scale aerial attack on Ukraine.
