In 21 communities in Donetsk region that have been designated as an active combat zone, around 69,000 civilians still remain. Among them are 2,997 children.
This was reported during an online briefing by Dmytro Petlin, a representative of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Ukrinform writes.
According to him, of the 25 communities in Donetsk region that are in territory controlled by Ukraine, 21 are within the active combat zone. In total, around 69,000 people remain there.
Across the entire government-controlled territory of the region, there are around 84,500 civilians, including 4,060 children.
Since the start of September, more than 10,900 people have already been evacuated from Donetsk region or left on their own.
Since February 2022, more than 1,452,500 people have been evacuated from their permanent places of residence in the Ukraine-controlled territory of Donetsk region.
Mandatory evacuation of the civilian population in Donetsk region has been ongoing since 2 August 2022.
- In Donetsk region, the area of mandatory evacuation of children has been expanded on a compulsory basis. This concerns certain settlements in the Sviatohirsk, Sloviansk and Novodonetsk communities.
