The International Monetary Fund will help secure part of the funds needed for Ukraine’s financial stability in 2027.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this after meeting with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva.
“We also discussed the importance of voting on the laws that are our commitments to our partners. The Verkhovna Rada has already voted for some of the decisions, and by the end of the year all the other laws needed for financial support will be passed,” the President assured.
The head of state noted that the Russians are trying to paralyse the work of business and the state. “That is why macro-financial assistance is especially important for us right now. Thank you for all the IMF support programmes that are helping our economy withstand this,” Zelenskyy concluded.
- Financial assistance for Ukraine was also discussed at a meeting between the Ukrainian President and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
- On 22 September, our country received $841 million in financing from the World Bank under guarantees from the Canadian government. The funds will be directed towards reimbursing state budget expenditures related to pension payments.
- Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi confirmed that Ukraine has faced a significant budget deficit.
