More than 500 Defence Forces units already have access to DOT-Chain Defence, an online marketplace for weapons and military equipment developed by the Defence Procurement Agency (DOT) of the Ministry of Defence.

In more than a year of operation, the Defence Forces have received over 1.3 million drones and other equipment through the system, with a total value of UAH 85 billion. Deliveries are made both directly via DOT-Chain Defence and under the “Army of Drones. Bonus” programme.
The marketplace enables service personnel to select the equipment they need and place orders based on their units’ requirements.
New units from the “Drone Line” project and separate assault regiments have also joined the system. From now on, they too can independently order unmanned systems via DOT-Chain Defence.
According to Deputy Defence Minister Mstyslav Banik, the marketplace is used by units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service, the National Police, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, the State Special Transport Service and other components of the Defence Forces that are directly involved in combat operations.
“We are interested in ensuring that as many units as possible can choose their own weapons independently,” Mstyslav Banik said.
Just a year ago, only 12 Armed Forces brigades had access to DOT-Chain Defence. The system’s gradual scaling has made it available to most components of the Defence Forces.
The largest share of orders placed through the marketplace currently comprises:
- unmanned aerial vehicles – 84%;
- electronic warfare equipment – 8.6%;
- ground robotic complexes – 7.2%;
- ammunition – 0.2%.
Orders are funded through three state budget programmes: DOT-Chain Defence itself, the “Army of Drones. Bonus” programme, and a programme that finances the needs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
