President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that work is continuing in Ukraine to deal with the aftermath of Russian shelling. According to him, Russian forces attacked a number of regions overnight, damaging energy facilities, substations, civilian businesses and residential buildings.
The president reported this on social media.
In Kyiv, in particular, the depot at Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi station, data and business centres, as well as residential buildings were damaged.
In Odesa region, an educational institution, a dormitory and two foreign vessels were damaged.
Overnight, Kyiv region, Dnipropetrovsk region, Kharkiv region, Sumy region, Donetsk region, Zaporizhzhia, Zhytomyr region, Volyn and Rivne region were also hit.
Zelenskyy noted that during the attack, air defence forces shot down Russian targets, including ballistic missiles. He thanked everyone involved in defending Ukraine.
The president also highlighted partners’ support for air defence. In particular, this includes the NASAMS system and a package of missiles for it from the United States and Norway, as well as assistance packages for Ukraine’s air defence from France and Germany.
"Against the backdrop of daily Russian escalation, it is important that the protection of life receives sustained support and that such packages continue to arrive," Zelenskyy wrote.
