First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal and the US Chargé d’Affaires in Ukraine, Paul Huston, discussed co-operation in the field of nuclear energy at a meeting.
As the Energy Ministry’s press service reported, the talks focused in particular on implementing AP1000 projects, diversifying nuclear fuel supplies and establishing its production in Ukraine.
The ministry noted that an important area remains the possibility of involving US financial institutions in the implementation of energy projects in our country.
Other topics in the Shmyhal–Huston talks included support for Ukraine under the SPARC programme, the supply of critically needed energy equipment, the development of distributed generation and energy storage systems.
